The NY strip roast is also known as top loin of beef. An average-size roast of this variety is approximately 4 to 5 pounds; but they can range as high as 8 pounds. The NY strip roast comes from a section of the cow that doesn’t do a whole lot of work), the NY strip roast is characterized by its distinctive layer of fat along one side.
